Getting Started
Install AISpy, add your first API key, and run your first visibility check in a few minutes.
Welcome to the AISpy help centre. This guide walks you through everything you need to go from a fresh install to your first AI visibility report.
Before you begin
AISpy is a bring-your-own-API-key desktop application. Everything runs locally on your machine — your keys, prompts, and tracking data never touch our servers. To track a given model you’ll need a valid API key for that provider:
- ChatGPT — an OpenAI API key
- Claude — an Anthropic API key
- Gemini — a Google AI Studio key
- Perplexity — a Perplexity API key
- Google AI Mode & AI Overviews — DataForSEO API credentials
Install AISpy
- Download the build for your platform from the downloads page.
- Open the installer and follow the prompts.
- Launch AISpy. You’ll land on the Dashboard tab.
AISpy supports macOS, Windows, and Linux. The Linux build is intended for headless or server deployments where you want scheduled tracking to run unattended.
Add your first API key
- Open Settings from the top-right menu.
- Paste your provider key into the matching field.
- Click Refresh models to pull the current model list from that provider.
Run your first check
- Go to the Prompts tab and add a prompt you care about.
- Select the models you want to run it against.
- Hit Run — AISpy queries each model and records who and what gets cited.
That’s it. Head to Tracking Your Visibility to learn how to read the results.
